Evropska filmska akademija objavila je prvu selekciju od 32 najbolja evropska filma preporučena za nominacije za Evropsku filmsku nagradu u različitim kategorijama – režija, scenario, gluma, a među odabranim ostvarenjima našao se i film „Otac“ režisera Srdana Golubovića. Evropska filmska akademija objavila je prvi spisak filmova među kojima je i film Otac, a u septembru ove godine spisak igranih naslova biće proširen novim ostvarenjima, čime će biti obuhvaćeni i filmovi koji su imali potvrđenu premijeru do 31. maja ove godine, a do čega nije došlo usled aktuelne pandemije. Uslov je, da ti filmovi imaju premijeru u kinima ili online, do kraja novembra 2020. „Otac“ je imao svjetsku premijeru na ovogodišnjem filmskom festivalu u Berlinu na kom je osvojio dviie nagrade, a potom je krajem februara otvorio 48. beogradski Fest.
Otac je film o čovjeku kome su zbog siromaštva oduzeli djecu, gubitniku, odbačenom i poniženom, koji kroz svoje putovanje, hodajući od svog sela na jugu Srbije do Beograda, sa kraja na kraj zemlje, iz protesta, dostojanstva, želje da dokaže i sebi i drugima, iz očaja – postaje heroj.
U glavnoj ulozi, oca Nikole, našao se proslavljeni glumac Goran Bogdan, dok su ostale uloge pripale Borisu Isakoviću, Nadi Šargin, Milici Janevski, Vahidu Džankoviću, Jovi Maksiću, Nikoli Rakočeviću, Milanu Mariću i Ljubomiru Bandoviću, a u ulozi djece našli su se Ajla Šantić i Muharem Hamzić.
